“Wealth is the product of a man’s capacity to think.” – Ayn Rand

Let’s keep it real … I am not a millionaire, yet.

I cannot remember ever consciously thinking that I wanted to be a millionaire. I have been humming along happy with my life and social status. Until recently.

A seed was sown into my life.

One of my friends shared that he is on a mission to empower women to become millionaires. Another friend asked me, empathically, if I was making millions yet. And another person mentioned in conversation that she wants to be a millionaire.

Wow!

Three’s a charm.

The floodgates opened and I began to think that I could be a millionaire. That’s the first step … it begins with a thought. Thought turns into desire. Desire turns into belief. Belief becomes action.

You have to be a millionaire in your mind to become a millionaire in your life.

It is a mindset first.

Now, I am on the path to become a millionaire. I have my study list and I am revving to go.

What are the three must reads on becoming a millionaire?

1. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is the authority on how to develop a millionaire mindset.

This book is an all time best-selling in the personal growth genre. More than 100 million copies have been sold since it was originally published in 1937. It is a highly recommended read by many successful and accomplished people.
Some impressionable quotes from Think and Grow Rich are:

  • “The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small fire makes a small amount of heat.”
  • “You are the master of your destiny. You can influence, direct and control your own environment. You can make your life what you want it to be.”
  • “A quitter never wins and a winner never quits.”

2. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth by T. Harv Eker is also a national best-selling book.
In two parts, it addresses the importance of having a healthy financial blueprint and defines 17 distinct ways rich people think and act.

I found the following statements to be impactful:

  • “If you want to change the fruits, you will first have to change the roots. If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible.”
  • “You can have all the knowledge and skills in the world, but if your ““blueprint”” isn’’t set for success, you’’re financially doomed.”

  • “You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.”

3. It’s Never to Late to be a Millionaire by Jack Canfield is a quick read on the millionaire mindset. The more visual folks can check out his YouTube video. The major take-aways are:

  • “You must have the belief that you can easily become a millionaire.”
  • “You must decide what being a millionaire means to you.”
  • “You have to transform your financial comfort zone.”
  • “You need to decide how much money you want to have in your life.”

Perhaps, you are now inspired to be a millionaire. Perhaps, you think you can become a millionaire. If so, bravo!

Whoa! This is a great piece. In my own case, even as an employee, I’m taking steps to start my business in a small way(entrepreneurship), working hard hoping that one day, it will grow to become an oak. I love this post!
