“David was dancing before the LORD with all his might.” 2 Samuel 6:14

There’s a popular saying that you only live once. I typically hear it in reference to choosing an experience where there is an initial hesitation.

To do or not to do?

You only live once, or YOLO for short, grants one permission to be free, brave and daring.

Permission to live without restraints. Permission to break the chains away. Permission to abandon concerns.

After all, you only live once.

But why save this permissive right to live life to the fullest for a special occasion or singular event. Have you considered giving yourself permission to be free and with wild abandon every day?

Imagine … what does this look like for you?

For me, its conjures up the image of King David dancing in the streets with all his might. From the outside, it may appear to have been a foolish offense. The King … dancing in the streets. Ha!

In reality, it is a moment of praise and celebration for the goodness of God that offers insights on how we too can dance with life.

Give it your all. Every day is an opportunity for you to put your heart, mind and soul into living.

You can exert all of your power and strength into your daily undertaking. You can exercise your knowledge, gifts and talents to their fullest potential.

Feel the excitement. Be present in this day and absorb the positive energy that is available to you. Take note of what makes your adrenalin rush and moves you to enjoy the moment.

Unleash your enthusiasm. Rekindle your childlike eagerness. Experience the fun that life offers to you.

Humble yourself before others. It’s easy to get caught up in titles, status and accomplishments. Sometimes these are distractions from the real meaning of life.
Don’t take yourself too seriously. We are all human beings.

Praise the Lord. Every day is a gift from the Lord. It’s to be opened, experienced and enjoyed in appreciation of God’s gift.  Just as we receive this gift, we should return praise and thanksgiving to God.

Let gratefulness flow from your heart to His.

What additional ways can you dance through life? Please share your thoughts in the comments section, I’d love to hear from you.
